UTAR 10th Anniversary Opening Ceremony Performance





2012



The 12th year of the 3rd millennium and of the 21st century!
The year of Dragon for the Chinese!
Armageddon for the ancient Mayanist!

and


UTAR 10th anniversary for all Utarians!!!





On January 14th this year, we'd been invited by UTAR to perform on
the 10th anniversary launching ceremony.
We are honored to have given this opportunity to be affiliated with  
 such meaningful event.   


Now let's have a look at what happened on that day~!!

The songs performed on that morning was divided into 3 sections:
1. Ensemble songs
- The Bolivian Dance (玻利维亚舞曲)
- The Story of a Small Town (小城故事)
- “The Tricky Master" drama theme song (千王之王)
- I Only Care About You (我只在乎你)
- Dayung Sampan (甜蜜蜜)
- The Evergreen Mountains (高山青)
- "The Beach of Shanghai" drama theme song (上海滩)
- FengYang Flower Drum (凤阳花鼓)
- Chan Mali Chan
- Rasa Sayang


2. Solo songs
- Erhu solo: Battle Steeds Galloping (战马奔腾)
- Liuqin solo: Melody of the Lantern (马灯调)
- Pipa solo: The Dance of the Yi Clan (彝族舞曲)


3. Chinese New Year specials
- Dance of the Golden Snake (金蛇狂舞)
- Pleasures Around (喜气洋洋)




Note the list of songs we have prepared for this event.
It's truly our first time having 12 ensemble songs in one performance.


Thank to our performers for their commitment. 
They have to come back early for the performance 
when everyone else are still having their semester break.

Erhu (二胡) : Mr. Lim Li Rui, Mr. Tam Maan Chun, Mr. Lawrence Wong, Ms. Teoh Jing Yi
Cello (大提琴) : Mr. Chong Wei Feng & Ms. Ruth Chan Jing Ru
Double Bass (低音提琴) : Mr. Lau Toong Lan

Percussion (打击乐)
Chinese Wood Block
 (木鱼),  Bass Drum (低音鼓)Paigu (排鼓) : Mr. Tan Jee Chin & Ms. Leong Sze Wan
Pengling (碰铃), Small Cymbal (小钹) : Mr. Wong Ping Fung
Triangle (三角铁), Small Gong (小锣) : Mr. Tan Jee Chin
Tambourine (铃鼓) : Mr. Wong Ping Fung & Mr. Tan Jee Chin

was in the mood to update blog....dunno y.... -_- i'm thinking of interview a series of people in conjunction with our recruitment in week 5...but i doubt i'll have the time...hahahaha....
