Utar chinese orchestra is having a trip to
University of Malaya
for...~~
Details of the trip is as follow:

Date: 4 March, 2012 (This Sunday)
Venue: BLK C, cafeteria 
Duration: Concert 2 hours, Road trip 2 hours

Time: Depart from Kampar 4.30pm
Arrival at UM 7.30pm
Depart from UM 10.15pm
Arrival at Kampar 12am

All participants are require to gather at UTAR, BLK C cafeteria by 4.30pm sharp

'Togetherness' PR campaign 2012 performance

This sunday we have been invited to a performance for
the campaign
'Togetherness'
organized by UTAR  PR Group 1, 2012
which aimed to break the Malaysia Book Of record 
for the largest origami mosaic.

A total of 6 members from the orchestra had performed the songs
Chan mali chan, The high green mountain (高山青) and rasa sayang
to mark the opening ceremony of the campaign.

Woodwind group first practice for new batch students

Here is an announcement to all *WOODWIND MEMBERS! 
*Note: this is only for woodwind; dizi.

We have concluded the best time for our weekly practice based
on your available time. So, this is the final conclusion and 
each and everyone of you (WOODWIND ONLY)
who happened to be free within the duration are welcome to join us. 

Date: Every Thursday
Time: 7pm - 9pm 
Venue: BLK K, student pavillion

To all NEW WOODWIND GROUP members
for your information, the weekly practice have already began last week.
Those who have replied to our woodwind group leader, should have already attended
the first practice. If you missed out the first class but have informed the leader about your absence,
your name are still secured on the list and you are most welcome to join the next lesson.
Note: You must contact the woodwind leader if you've been a sleeping member of the orchestra
but is interested to begin your practice now.

To all 2011/May intake WOODWIND group members,
you are require to reply to our woodwind group leader regarding your scheduled

Note: If you've been actively involved in all practice for the past few semesters, you will be advance to the next level and will soon be joining the ensemble practice. 
Note: If you still wish to continue on the practice but have not been joining the practice for weeks, please kindly contact us so we can make the proper arrangement for you guys.



After the gathering that day, the woodwind group have already began the first lesson
with new members who have registered under the woodwind section. 

Here are some glimpse on our first lesson!!!

In chinese orchestra, we relies a lot on good tempo besides skillful tactics of each player and
also the ability to read numbered musical notation. 

Hence, the first lesson is aim to build your tempo and give you guys some basic on music theory.

Newbies from foundation, biotechnology, biochemistry, accounting, biomedical, chinese studies, and etc.

After familiarizing themselves with the tempo, is time to get a hand on the bamboo flute.

'Melody' Farewell and Welcoming Gathering "韵" 迎新送旧会


First and foremost, i'm here to say a million thank to all who had attended the events.
The event wouldn't have been possible without your support.

 Next, two thumbs up to the organizing committees for their tireless efforts and dedication
on making the event a success. You guys are the best so far!  >.^

If you missed out the gathering, here are some glimpse on what happened that day!



Seniors often played a multi-faceted role of a friend and a guide in the orchestra.
Hence, farewell is a golden chance for juniors to convey their heartfelt wishes 
to their seniors and extend their sincere gratitude to them. 

18 veteran orchestra members 
were presented with farewell souvenir gift to mark their contribution to the orchestra.

After dinner, we have a group performance by all senior members of the orchestra

The event ended with games and i believe everyone goes back
learning something new which may be useful in times.

We are RECRUITING MEMBER NOW!!!


After much anticipation, we are finally recruiting new member again.
Feel free to drop by our booth for registration at block C, cafeteria (on Stage).
If you need more information, do not hesitate to ask our booth officers. 
They are all willing and happy to answer your queries. 

Now, with so many 'Recruitment Drive' going on in the campus
 you're probably wondering which clubs to join.

So why should you join the Chinese Orchestra?

First and foremost
You need to get out and DO SOMETHING
instead of spending hours in front your laptop watching movies,
 TVB drama, PPS, playing games (DOTA for example) or Facebook-ing.

our club gives you an opportunity to explore more varied, and healthier, activities.

Our orchestra have members from different courses and background.
We promise you a comfortable place to meet others with similar interests.
With lots of interesting new people to meet and mix with, you can
immediately expand your social circle!!! At each event, you'll have the 
opportunity for friendly, informal personal networking that will enrich your social circle with
diverse, new friends.

Gwon felt exited joining the Torch Run as it was rarely held in Korea. Kang was impressed by the UTAR Chinese Orchestra that performed a harmonious fusion of traditional and modern music before the launching ceremony. "

UTAR 10th Anniversary Opening Ceremony Performance

The 12th year of the 3rd millennium and of the 21st century!
The year of Dragon for the Chinese!
Armageddon for the ancient Mayanist!

and


UTAR 10th anniversary for all Utarians!!!





On January 14th this year, we'd been invited by UTAR to perform on
the 10th anniversary launching ceremony.
We are honored to have given this opportunity to be affiliated with  
 such meaningful event.   


Now let's have a look at what happened on that day~!!

The songs performed on that morning was divided into 3 sections:
