Calling all new members/ sleeping members!!!!


On Tuesday (Week 6), there will be a gathering for 
all members/ new members/ sleeping members
at BLK K, student pavillion by
6pm

If you missed out the previous gathering last year,
you are most welcome to join us this time.

There'll will be performances, games, introduction of instruments, and
information on weekly practice.

We are RECRUITING MEMBER NOW!!!


After much anticipation, we are finally recruiting new member again.
Feel free to drop by our booth for registration at block C, cafeteria (on Stage).
If you need more information, do not hesitate to ask our booth officers. 
They are all willing and happy to answer your queries. 

Now, with so many 'Recruitment Drive' going on in the campus
 you're probably wondering which clubs to join.

So why should you join the Chinese Orchestra?

First and foremost
You need to get out and DO SOMETHING
instead of spending hours in front your laptop watching movies,
 TVB drama, PPS, playing games (DOTA for example) or Facebook-ing.

our club gives you an opportunity to explore more varied, and healthier, activities.

Meet People/ Make New Friends

Our orchestra have members from different courses and background.
We promise you a comfortable place to meet others with similar interests.
With lots of interesting new people to meet and mix with, you can
immediately expand your social circle!!! At each event, you'll have the 
opportunity for friendly, informal personal networking that will enrich your social circle with
diverse, new friends.

and of course music is on the list
but we are not just talking about learning music here

By joining the orchestra, you also get to develop new skills

so how?


Interested to join but what should i do?

Prepare RM10, pay to our booth
 (deposit to Department of Student Affair later)
This is a Paid membership - Once-off fee
You only pay once and remain members until your graduation /expelled/ terminated.

Register yourself at our booth in BLK C, cafeteria (on stage)

and

start involving!

We will be having our introductory induction workshop for all new members/ sleeping members
by week 6 (Tuesday)

Gwon felt exited joining the Torch Run as it was rarely held in Korea. Kang was impressed by the UTAR Chinese Orchestra that performed a harmonious fusion of traditional and modern music before the launching ceremony. "

UTAR 10th Anniversary Opening Ceremony Performance

The 12th year of the 3rd millennium and of the 21st century!
The year of Dragon for the Chinese!
Armageddon for the ancient Mayanist!

and


UTAR 10th anniversary for all Utarians!!!





On January 14th this year, we'd been invited by UTAR to perform on
the 10th anniversary launching ceremony.
We are honored to have given this opportunity to be affiliated with  
 such meaningful event.   


Now let's have a look at what happened on that day~!!

The songs performed on that morning was divided into 3 sections:
1. Ensemble songs
- The Bolivian Dance (玻利维亚舞曲)
- The Story of a Small Town (小城故事)
- “The Tricky Master" drama theme song (千王之王)
- I Only Care About You (我只在乎你)
- Dayung Sampan (甜蜜蜜)
- The Evergreen Mountains (高山青)
- "The Beach of Shanghai" drama theme song (上海滩)
- FengYang Flower Drum (凤阳花鼓)
- Chan Mali Chan
- Rasa Sayang


2. Solo songs
- Erhu solo: Battle Steeds Galloping (战马奔腾)
- Liuqin solo: Melody of the Lantern (马灯调)
- Pipa solo: The Dance of the Yi Clan (彝族舞曲)


3. Chinese New Year specials
- Dance of the Golden Snake (金蛇狂舞)
- Pleasures Around (喜气洋洋)

It's truly our first time having 12 ensemble songs in one performance.
